The SUNY Oneonta 30th Annual Philosophy conference was last week and included students all over the country to speak on there philosophy papers that lead up to the main speaker a professor on buffalo on “what is a mocktail (wrong answers only)” the start to the guest speaker was rather interesting a show case of all the philosophy brochures (two years missing due to covid) previous pictures at the previous conferences (that can be found on Google currently) and an individual less than 30 second message from the students running the event although there is faculty at the 30th conference the point of each annual Philosophy conference is to have it run by students. From what I have been told it is essentially a upper division 4000 level class run by Dan Patrone (similar to Model UN prepping to go to the City to represent your organization) the professor from Buffalo explained mocktails compared it to real life pop culture references (Tom Cruise, Star Trek, Alf) use of ai google images were used and brought up for the references. overall a fun guest speaker who is relatable by showing a real mocktail recipe and pointing out its irony knowing how Aristotle died.
